Inspiration

11 Jul

Mid summer is upon us, and during this time of year I am drawn to interior designs that are light and airy, with a tinge of coastal vibes.  Southern Grace Interiors is a design firm based in Bluffton, SC that does work throughout the South.  Their projects have an upscale coastal sensibility, without being overly thematic. They remind me of Lowcountry vacations.

Pour yourself an iced tea, and scroll down for a sampling of lovely spaces from Southern Grace’s various projects. Peruse their portfolio or give them a follow on Instagram for more coastal inspiration! All images below are courtesy of Southern Grace Interiors.

The art at the entrance speaks to the setting. Through the arch, vaulted ceilings, a light color palette and woven shades keep the space bright and airy.
The blue ceiling, slipcovered chairs, and bird art whisper “coastal dining room.”
This neutral living room keeps things interesting with the inclusion of a variety of prints, tones, and textures. It has just a touch of formality while still being relaxed and welcoming.
This family room is a great balance of traditional (English roll arm sofa, chinoiserie, tailored pillows) and upscale casual (natural fiber rug, shiplap walls).
This calming bedroom invites you to relax after a day on the water. It features a soothing color palette and a nice mix of pattern and texture.
The wood furniture and orange accents in this bedroom are unexpected in a coastal retreat. However, the woven basket, wall sculpture, and shutters nod to the Lowcountry setting.
Sand, sea, and sky inspired the colors and materials in this bedroom.
Bright blue and pops of coral liven up this bunk room. Perfect for getting cozy with a great beach read!
